Pilgrim Basset Hound Club is licensed by the American Kennel Club and a member of the Basset Hound Club of America. We were established by a group of New England basset hound fanciers in 1953. Our objectives are:
to encourage and promote quality breeding of purebred Basset Hounds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection
to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Basset Hounds shall be judged
to do all in our power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials, obedience trials and tracking tests
to conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, field trials, obedience trials, tracking tests, etc. under the rules of the American Kennel Club
The club holds six to eight events per year ranging from formal specialty dog shows to informal fun days and picnics. The current roster has more than 80 members from all states in New England.
